Sarah's First Post
Family Home Evening
I was in charge of family home evening last night. I got a lesson ready for my family. The lesson was on remember your baptism. I was excited to do it. Grandma Eileen was here and stayed. She said "Addie, that was the best family home evening I have ever, ever been to!" My family thought it was good too. Me, Hayden, and Jase sang I am a Child of God. We read the book The Kissing Hand. We played a puzzle game about Joseph Smith that I made at church. I asked questions like "what is Jesus like?" and "where do we pray?" I played Jingle Bells on the piano. I showed my new picture from my primary presidency of Jesus being baptized in the River Jordan. I read it and it said what I covenant to do and what the Lord covenants with me when I am baptized. I showed my statue of Jesus with a little girl and a little boy and a lamb and my statue of a little girl praying. Grandpa Steve gave my mom the little girl praying when she was a little girl and she gave it to me. Hayden said his testimony and it made me feel happy.
I wrote my testimony and then on Monday night I shared it. This is what I wrote:

I love my cat. i feed her evry day and nihti. I Love Jeases and I am happy to be me. I Love to ride my bike to. and most of all I Love hvnly fathr and Jeases Criste. I Love me to.
(I know that our church is true and I know that we can be a family for ever and ever. I love my family and I know that they love me too. I know that Heavenly Father knows that I love him too. I am a help for our home. I am glad that I have a family that loves me. My cat loves me too. I hope we can be nice to our friends and when I pray I am watched over. I am a girl that is nice to everyone. I love my mom and my dad, and I love my brothers. I love my family so much. When I turn eight I am baptized. These are some of the things I love, I love horses and cats and dogs too. I love my family so much too. I love my cat. I feed her every day and night. I love Jesus and I am happy to be me. I love to ride my bike too and most of all I love Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I love me too. Amen.)
My mom played the piano while I leaded I Lived in Heaven and I Know My Father Lives.
I gave the closing prayer and Hayden gave the opening prayer.

Tis The Season
Christmas Eve
This year we had our traditional Christmas Eve party at Grandpa Chad's and Grandma Eileen's. It gets a little more fun and a little more crazy each year as we add more family members to the mix.
There was, of course, the cookie decorating. I probably made 100 cookies and I think each kid was done decorating after about four or five cookies.
It is impossible to decorate cookies without licking your fingers!
I decided to help frost a few dozen cookies because the kids were getting tired of it. Brooke and Nicole are so fun to watch with their cameras clicking away.
Cadence accidentally dumped the whole bottle of green sprinkles on her cookie. We thought she would be so proud of herself but she ended up crying. I think she thought she did something wrong-sweet little girl!
Jase loved the "cookie time" more than anyone
They were all hard at work. Addie took her responsibility of making Santa's cookies very seriously. She worked very hard to make them perfect just for him!
Jase kept going and going and going.
And eating and eating, and eating
I enjoyed watching him sit there all by his self.
Finally the cookies were all frosted! Or at least half of them anyway!
Now it was time for the kids to open up their special Christmas Eve presents. Excitement was in the air-they could hardly wait!

This year all of the Christmas jammies had monkeys on them. I felt it was very suitable, considering who their grandpa is!
Next up was Christmas bingo. The kids played for dollar store prizes. Hayden was so happy when he won his very own basting brush and ice cream scooper. We finally went home to bed so Santa could be on his way!
Christmas Morning!!!
Grandma and Grandpa Hunter were able to stay at our house Christmas Eve. The kids were thrilled to be able to share Christmas morning with them!
Jase is discussing with Grandpa how his new motorcycle works and how the little guy rides on it.
Grandpa helps Addie by babysitting her new American Girl doll while she opens more presents.
Wow, Santa brought hayden exactly what he asked for! The funny thing about this remote controlled motorcycle is it doesn't work. It just goes in circles. I guess he doesn't realize something isn't right. As long as it is loud and moves somewhere, that is good enough for him.
Stockings have always been one of my favorite parts of Christmas morning.
Dad wanted to wait until the very end to open the motorcycle but the kids just couldn't handle looking at that big present in the corner. Hayden got on the floor to see what was underneath and he saw a tire! Well that was the end, it had to be opened right away!
Jase had to check out every detail, especially the engine!
They all took turns "riding" the bike while dad kept it from tipping over with his toe.
Jase thinks he already knows how to ride. I wouldn't be surprised if he did know how to ride!

After we were done with santa at our house, we then went to Grandma's! Brooke and Blake were both there with their families so the kids were just so excited to see each other a talk about presents. Oh, and the piles of presents under Grandma's tree caused a little excitement as well!
To prevent any child, or grown child, from snooping, Grandma coded the presents with secret names. Each of the kids were named after santa's reindeer, and each adult was one of the seven dwarfs. We were as follows: Addie-Dancer, Hayden-Comet, Jase-Dasher, Tyese-Donner, Kahlea-Vixen, Shelton-Blitzen, Cadence-Prancer, Ashland-Cupid, Bryce-Sleepy, Nicki-Dopey, Blake-Happy, Nicole-Bashful, Brooke-Doc, Ben-Grumpy.
With names and antlers on, the kids were ready to start.
They lined up along the couch and waited for their code-name to be called.
Hayden is becoming quite the builder with all his blocks, Leggos, and Lincoln logs.
Grandma must have known Santa was bringing her a doll because she got the perfect horse just for her doll.
Don't Break The Ice is now one of Jase's favorite games! Way to go Grandma!
Nobody was too excited about the outfit Grandma picked out for family pictures-which turned out way cute by the way-but who would be when there are toys to be unwrapped and played with?
Uncle Blake saved me from having to put together the boys toys. Hayden got a GeoTrax airplane thing Blake got it all set up for him! Thank you so much Blake!
Oh, I almost forgot, Addie got two new cats for Christmas. One was a kitten that I got for her, the other was adopted from a shelter by Grandma Connie. We brought the kitten to the Burton's so I chose to babysit it. (FYI-the cat Grandma gave has since run away ): It might be for the better because the two cats did not get along.)
I even found it easier to make friends while I was holding the cat. Kahlea is now my buddy-I sure like her!
Jase's race game was quite exciting and perfect for his little hands!
The presents are opened, the house is destroyed, now it is time for TV and naps.
Of course all the kids just had to get into the hot tub with their grandpa and eat popsicles. I don't think Grandpa has wrinkles, he is just pruney from being in the water so much!
Grandma got her three kids a Wii. So of course we played but the funnest round of all was when Grandpa and Grandma were boxing each other.

We aren't sure why, but Grandma took on Hayden in boxing. However when you get a hyper-active child it doesn't matter who the opponent is, they lose. Hayden got quite a little attitude after the week was over.
And that was our Christmas! Only a bazillion photos but that is how christmas goes!
